Scholarship Program Deadline is May 1stThe Raymond Area Rotary Club will be presenting annual scholarships including one $1,000 “Art Richardson Scholarship” award to a graduating high school senior or post-secondary school student who resides in one of the following communities: Deerfield, Epping, Candia, Fremont, Nottingham or Raymond. The applicant must be a United States citizen who has been or anticipates on being accepted into an accredited post-secondary institution within a year of June 2023. The Rotary scholarships were established to aid deserving, academically oriented students in furthering their education without the burden of demonstrating financial need, or limiting the student to a specific institution and area of study. Community Flag Project
Here’s how it works: Prior to Memorial Day weekend, a Rotary Club member will place a flag holder in the ground on your property. We will set up a 3’x5’ American-made American flag on a 9’ pole into the ground stake. The flag will be displayed on each holiday for around five days. It will then installed prior to each holiday and stored until the next holiday. Our flags are American made and supplied by a NH company. Note: This year we are offering the option of the flag remaining in place for the whole season! The annual subscription fee is $50. The funds raised from this project will be used to help fund our community projects and some international projects with a strong focus on supporting youth and families. In 2024, we are going to focus on the five communities of Raymond, Candia, Deerfield, Nottingham, and Epping. Click here to register. |
Rotary Sponsored Events 2021Here are some of the events Raymond Area Rotary is involved in for 2021. RARC gave out approximately 30,000 masks to first responders, schools, nursing homes, and area businesses during this past year. We were also involved with a global grant that allowed us to distribute PPE, support food banks, and supply critical equipment to our first responders. On September 11th, we will be holding our annual ThunderRun Obstacle Race at Candia Springs Adventure Park in Candia, NH. 100% of our profits go to local and international service projects. This years featured charity is Tunnel to Towers Foundation. You can check out their outreach here. Since September 11th is going to be the 20th anniversary of the attacks of 9/11, we are going to start the event with a remembrance of 9/11 at 8:30 am, with many of our are first responders in attendance. Picnic Tables
The Raymond Area Rotary Picnic Table Committee has been busy contsructing and delivering picnic tables to the communities that we Serve of Fremont, Deerfield, Candia, Nottingham, Raymond and Epping. This project was an extension of the picnic tables that we provided several years and replaces or adds to the tables all ready in place. Kathy Lee Daskal a Raymond Resident and Recreation Dept of Nottingham sent a note to Raymond Area Rotarians which reads in part : "I would like to thank you for making and delivering two picnic tables each to the Nottingham Town Beach and to Riverside Park in Raymond. Your kind generosity is not only appreciated by me, but all those in both communities who enjoy using these public spaces. I am on the Riverside Park Committee and was involved with the Arts in the Park event this past Saturday. Having the tables in the meadow under a tent for that event provided a shaded place to sit for many of those who came to enjoy the music. Your timing was perfect! " It is through this project and others through out the year that Raymond Area Rotary helps our local communities and exemplifies the Rotary Motto of "Sevice Above Self"

Steve Puderbaugh recives Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious ServiceI was pleasantly surprised Saturday night at a Rotary dinner in honor of Sakuji Tanaka who is the incoming president of Rotary International. I was presented with the Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service which is the second highest honor bestowed by the Foundation. I was certainly humbled to get the award and to receive the award from the president of our great organization was extra special. |

Dewey Peterson
IN MEMORIAM
Dewey Peterson
Rev. Dr. Dewey Peterson, 78 of Nottingham passed away on June 18, 2009. Dr. Peterson was a longtime member of the Raymond Area Rotary Club. He had served a number of pastorates in Massachusetts and was Pastor Emeritus of The Second Church UCC of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Most recently he was pastor of the Acton, Maine Congregational Church. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Alice, 4 married children and 9 grandchildren and a brother Dana Peterson. He will be remembered for his humility, common touch, and down to earth sense of humor. Memorial Services will be held on Sunday July 5 at 1Pm at the Acton Congregational Church, Acton Maine. |
Annual David Welch Memorial Blood Bank
On April 14, 2009 the Annual David Welch Blood Bank will be held at the Raymond High School between 3 and 7PM. Volunteers and blood donors are needed. There will also be a bone marrow testing at the same time.

Lynne Martin Spoke to Rayond Club

and operates Beneficial Bodyworks, a massage and alternative health facility located in Raymond. She noted that massage brings
stress relief; relieving muscle tension and opening circulation. As such, it is very important to general
health and should be part of regular health maintenance. Although no free samples were given, Lynne

Several members in the district wanted to also do a hands on project and David Ballou, President of the Wallingford Club, has stepped up to be the team leader of this project and we are partnering with the Rotary Club of Pass Christian and the Mennonites. |
